Kawartha Protect Our Water (KPOW) is having a public information meeting on Thursday, July 19th at the Bocaygeon Service Centre to discuss this topic of blue-green algae in our lake.
The meeting gets underway at 7 p.m.
More information can be found at http://www.mykawartha.com/community/article/1400856–meeting-offers-insight-into-algae-cause-and-cures OR http://www.kpow.info/
The event features Trent University eco-researcher Colleen Middleton who will help people become familiar with some of the algae common to the area – of which not all of it is harmful – and learn how simple changes can have an impact on their growth.
The meeting will also feature discussions on the proposed governmental changes to the Trent-Severn Waterway and the implications with Brian Hunt of Voices for the Trent. People are invited to bring their questions and concerns.
