Salvation Army Food Drive

Salvation ArmyVolunteers from the Sturgeon Point Union Church and the Sturgeon Lake Sailing Club have dropped off empty grocery bags at homes and cottages for the annual food drive in support of the Salvation Army.

Kindly fill up the bag with non perishable items.

On Monday August 4th volunteers will be coming by between 3:00-5:00pm to pick up your filled grocery bag. Please leave your bag at your front door step or porch for collection by Monday afternoon.

Regatta Update from Patricia Aspinwall

Thank you to everyone who came out to our fun filled weekend of Regatta events this past weekend.

The weekend started off with a great BBQ and Dance in the Park.Lots of food, good music, and great company.

Sunday had terrific weather for the Water Races at the Public Beach. The lake was perfectly calm and we had some great swimming and canoe races.

Monday morning started off great with our Running Races at Swannanoa. Unforunately (or forunately for the 25+ age group who were about to run), the weather gods thought we were having too much fun this weekend and gave us a good down pour to put a stop to it. We had hopes that the rain would let up, but after waiting it out for 10 minutes, there was no signs of that! After lots of debate and looking at the jam packed calendar for August, it has been decided not to find a rain date for the Running Races.

Thank you for all who came out. It was another wonderful Regatta Weekend in Sturgeon Point!

Civic Holiday Sailing Regatta

Registration, 9 am on Saturday at the Sturgeon Lake Sailing Club

  • Skipper’s Meeting—10 am
  • 1st Gun—11 am

$5.00 per person

There will be races for the following classes: Lasers/Radials, 420s, Handicap; Byte, Pico/Blue 420; and Optimist.

Sunday, August 3rd – Prizegiving Dinner

6pm at Rosehill (7 Henry St., Sturgeon Point)

Sailors & Non-Sailors are welcome!

$5.00 per junior and $10.00 per adult payable at the dinner.  (B.Y.O.B for adults)
