Sturgeon Point Leaf Dump

The Leaf Dump is certainly at it’s busiest these days and it has become apparent that it is getting close to capacity. There has been a bit of contention at the leaf dump as of late, with some notice of construction material and brush being dumped as well as non-community members using it.  The village is privileged to have such a convenient location to dispose of leaves and clippings.  Unfortunately, with the Leaf Dump being mis-used, the cost of maintaining this area is rising.

The Leaf Dump is owned by the Sturgeon Point Land Trustees and maintained by the Sturgeon Point Association with operating costs covered by the Sturgeon Point Association membership fees. We are concerned that with the increase in cost to maintain the Leaf Dump could result in increasing membership fess or having to close the Leaf Dump.  After a meeting with the Sturgeon Point Land Trustees, it was decided that the Leaf Dump should only be available for Sturgeon Point Association Members. As of November 1st, a combination lock will be put on the entrance gate to the Leaf Dump. All Sturgeon Point Association Members will be given the combination in a future email. We would ask that you unlock the gate when in use and lock it when not in use. We are hoping this will streamline the operation of the dump.

If you are not a Sturgeon Point Association member, please go to the Sturgeon Point Association website for a membership form (https://www.sturgeonpoint.com/spa-membership/).
