The Salvation Army Food Drive was a great success this year! Not only was this event for a worthy cause but several volunteers managed to have their efforts count towards community volunteer hours for high school.
Many thanks to Susan Benson for organizing and thanks to those that helped to make this event a success!
The August Long Weekend is here, and this is a reminder that there will be a BBQ and Street Dance for everyone in Sturgeon Point at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30th, at the Park. Everyone is welcome. Come on down and shake it out with all of your friends and neighbours.
Don’t forget that the swimming and canoe events have been moved to Sunday afternoon this year. Please bring a life jacket and water shoes if you’re coming to participate in those events.
Swimming and Canoe Races: 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon (July 31st) at the Public Beach.
Running Races: 10:00 a.m. Monday morning (Aug 1st) on the beautiful lawns of Swannanoa
The Sturgeon Point annual “Welcome to Summer” BBQ lunch event will be held on Canada Day, which this year falls on a Friday. This means that we have the opportunity to celebrate Canada Day on Canada Day!The festivities get under way at 12:00 noon at the Park. As usual, there’ll be hotdogs and burgers for everyone, and after the main course there will be birthday cake for all.
Mark this on your calendar: Friday, July 1st, 12:00 p.m. at the Park. Everyone is welcome, and we hope to see you there!
Many of you will be arriving for this first long weekend of the season, and here’s an opportunity to get together with the neighbours to tidy up the Village. Bring your rake, some gloves, and a garbage bag or two. Teams will be organized to tidy up the streets, the Park, and the other public spaces.
Refreshments will be served!
