Sturgeon Point Union Church

This is a friendly reminder that the SPA Annual General Meeting (AGM) is at 10:00AM this coming Sunday, August 25th (not the long weekend) at the Sturgeon Point Union Church.

The AGM is an important opportunity for our community to come together, review the past year’s achievements, discuss upcoming plans, address questions and concerns, and vote on key issues affecting Sturgeon Point.   As a reminder, only current SPA members may vote at the AGM.   We will have a table set up at the church in advance of the meeting (9:00AM ) and welcome you to renew or join so that you can vote.

We’re honoured to have Mayor Doug Elmslie and Councillor Mike Perry attending. If you have questions for them that you’d like answered, please email them in advance to [email protected].

You can obtain the meeting materials at the following links:

This AGM is also our final event celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Village of Sturgeon Point. In honour of the occasion, we’ll be showcasing a Then and Now display and slideshow. If you have any old photos or memorabilia that you’d like to contribute to the display, please get in touch with Darlene Young via email at [email protected]

The 125th anniversary flag will be on site and available for signing. If you haven’t had a chance to sign it yet, this is your last opportunity before it’s added to the Sturgeon Point time capsule.

Reminder that SPA is actively seeking new board members.  If you’re interested in getting involved, please email [email protected] for more details or talk to us at the AGM.

In addition to snacks and refreshments, we will have community maps on hand for active members who don’t have one yet.

We look forward to seeing you there and appreciate your support and participation!
